Disputes

Bestmed strives to create open lines of communication with all stakeholders. Should you feel that your dispute has not been resolved with your key account consultant, you can escalate the dispute to Loretha Mohamed, the Bestmed key accounts and retention manager.

In the event that the dispute is still unresolved, you can escalate the matter to Elmarie Jooste, Executive Manager: Corporate Services And Wellness.

Should the dispute be on behalf of a Bestmed-member employee, you can escalate your complaint to the Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) Complaints Unit.

Who can complain to the Registrar’s Office?

  • Any beneficiary or any person who is aggrieved with the conduct of a medical scheme can submit a complaint
  • It is, however, very important to note that a prospective complainant should always first seek to resolve complaints through the complaints mechanisms in place at the respective medical scheme before approaching the Council for assistance
  • Complaints can be submitted by any reasonable means such as a letter, fax, email or in person at the CMS offices from 08:00 to 16:30
