In 1987, during a reunion of members of Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR), 28 May was declared International Day of Action for Women’s Health. In 1999, it was officially recognised by the government of South Africa.

The campaign seeks to provide women’s grassroots organisations with greater access to information than was previously available, bring to light significant gaps in the research data on women’s health and to create a platform to highlight the importance of women’s health as an issue.

Bestmed offers access to quality healthcare and benefits for women and girls at various stages of their lives. We provide:

  • a Maternity Care Programme
  • female contraceptives
  • mammogams
  • HPV vaccinations
  • pap smears
