Bestmed Medical Scheme offers preventative care and wellness benefits for your child at no extra charge. Preventative care benefits include paediatric vaccines according to the state-recommended programme. Bestmed Tempo wellness programme benefits, available across all benefit options, include consultations with a nutritionist, occupational therapist and biokineticist.

Preventative care benefits

The Scheme funds all paediatric immunisations according to the state-recommended programme on all benefit options except Beat1 and Beat1 Network. Vaccines include immunisation against:

• polio
• tuberculosis
• pneumococcus
• rotavirus
• hepatitis A and B
• diphtheria
• Haemophilus influenzae type B
• pertussis
• tetanus
• measles
• chicken pox
• typhoid fever
• cholera
• meningitis
• HPV (for females 9 to 26 years old)
