These can be made in an airfryer (5 - 7 minutes depending on your airfryer settings); You can freeze some of the burger patties if you only want to cook 1 or 2 patties. Additionally, you can also make meatballs instead of burger patties.
Serving = 1x beef patty per burger
Beef burger Ingredients:
- 500g Lean beef mince, thawed
- ½ x small onion, minced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1x large egg
- 1 tbsp ground coriander
- tbsp dried parsley
- ½ tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- Whole Wheat/seeded burger buns (7 - 10 cm buns / palm length units)
- 5 Lettuce leaves
- 2 - 3 thick Tomato slices
- ½ small avocado
Method:
- In a large bowl, add the beef mince, egg, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, ground coriander, herbs and worcestershire sauce. Combine well using your hands, spoon or a spatula. Divide the mix into 4 - 6 equal portions and flatten/shape them into burger patties. When dividing the portions, make sure the portions are your preferred patty size, keeping in mind that they will shrink slightly when cooked. Squeeze out a bit of the excess water from the patties before grilling them.
- Over medium heat, add 1 tbsp canola oil to a pan. Pan fry the patties for 5 - 7 minutes each side before flipping them over. Flip the patties and fry for an additional 5 - 7 minutes. If you prefer a more charred burger patty, keep frying the patties until you reach your preferred patty colour.
- Serving suggestion: Wholewheat burger bun (you can toast the inside for a crunchy burger) with 1x burger patty, 1 tbsp cheddar cheese, tomato, 2x onion slices/rings, lettuce, 2 tbsp homemade burger sauce
