It has been a tedious two years of contactless interactions and virtual events in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and for everyone’s safety. However, with the easing of restrictions and gradual return to ‘normality’, the Bestmed team was excited to host the first Advisor Engagement Sessions for 2022.

This highly anticipated event was hosted for the KwaZulu Natal (KZN) advisor community at the Coastlands Hotel and Conference Centre on Tuesday, 5 April 2022. The event was aimed at recognising the exceptional work and service of the healthcare advisors and brokerages. Further to this, the sessions also allow an opportunity for Bestmed to provide advisors and brokerages with feedback on the financial and operational highlights, introducing the product enhancements, networking with advisors and officially introducing Bestmed to new Advisors.

This year’s first event was attended by over 100 advisors and proceedings were led by Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer, Mr Leo Dlamini and Advisor Sales Channel Manager, Zerina Richards.

2021 was a progressive year for Bestmed both in operational and financial standings, which our corporate and individual membership growth attests to. This is especially noteworthy considering that the rest of medical aid industry lost membership due to the pandemic and subsequent lock downs.

With the significant growth of business in the KZN region, the need to increase brand awareness and build strong relationships with the advisors is important. It is against this backdrop that we decided to host the first advisor session here.

The Bestmed team has always taken pride in its involvement in corporate social investment (CSI) initiatives that benefit various disadvantaged communities. The past year reflected collaborative efforts with reputable partners such as SuperSport Let’s Play, Partners for Possibilities and Operation Hunger, through donations of sustainable food programmes and educational and sporting resources. These are initiatives that we are proud to share with our business partners.

Bestmed also introduced a new product range, with low income-based options – Rhythm. These options cover both in- and out-of-hospital benefits, as well as unlimited primary care benefits. Members have access to unlimited private hospital admissions at Rhythm network hospitals and designated service providers (DSPs) within our Rhythm provider network.

Bestmed is confident in growing partnerships with advisors and further equipping them with the essential training and skills to prosper in their roles. For more information on how you can partner with Bestmed as an Advisor, contact our national Business Development Specialist, Anni Wolf, at anni.wolf@bestmed.co.za, to arrange an information session or discussion with the relevant regional business consultant.
