Firstly, thank you to each and every person who attended the 62nd Bestmed Medical Scheme Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 25 June 2026.

You, our members, are essential to our growth and to the sustainability of the Scheme. We appreciate your support and remain committed to offering you our best Personally Yours service. 

In 2025, economic uncertainty, regulatory changes, and pressure on household income created challenging conditions across sectors, including the South African medical schemes industry. These challenges are expected to persist into next year.

Despite these challenges, Bestmed:

• demonstrated resilience and maintained solid financial performance in 2025, through effective management and governance.
• recorded positive member growth of 3.60% (2024: 4.38%) – the seventh consecutive year of net membership growth – while maintaining a member-first approach.
